We have become interested in alternative energy sources and are presently using some of them.    We feel that as time passes, we all have a need to explore alternative energy sources to power our homes and businesses as well as heat them. It is also necessary to use less fossil fuels which are beginning to pollute the earth we live in. Solar power is a renewable energy source that is always present. Even wind power relies on solar energy to heat the earth, which in turn creates the air flow we call wind.

 Solar energy has been used for many years. History shows that ancient Greeks and Romans used it during the days of the Roman Empire. Solar energy was used to heat homes by facing the homes south. Glass and Mica was used to allow the sun to enter the home, heating the house. Solar use became so popular, that laws were passed to keep new buildings from encroaching upon the solar heating of another structure.

Our technology has learned to use solar energy to provide electricity as well as heat for  buildings. Not only have we learned how to heat homes, or heat our domestic hot water, but we have learned the art of creating electric. We have made solar cells so realiable and  efficient that they are now used for lighting and small electrical gadgets such as radios, watches, solar panels for camping and auxilary power source, calculators, and a host of other products.

It is our hope that we can encourage individuals to use solar power as a source of energy instead of fossil fuels. As individuals see the cost effectiveness of solar power, the dependency on fossil fuels will become less intense. By using alternative energy we can break from the bondage and dependency of gas and oil. As fuel costs rise, we will not become a victim.
